A number of people have reported that instead of a seeing a worksheet, all they get is a grey box. I think this might occur when the applet (the part of the webpage that “shows” the worksheet) is waiting for information to arrive from our website - for instance, you may be waiting for a picture to download, or even a piece of code that the applet needs to run.
After some research, I think the most likely cause is one of the following:
- If you are behind a firewall, it may be that the extra files the applet needs are being filtered or blocked - this means the applet never has all the information it requires to complete the worksheet. Make sure your firewall is not blocking Java or ‘Java applets’.
- It may be my hosting company isn’t serving files quickly enough at busy times. The solution to this is for me to upgrade my hosting package, so send your e-donations to pauper@worksheetgenius.com.
- If you are on a slow or unreliable network, it may be the files are queuing patiently in cyberspace, or have been “died” in transit.
