Inspiration

This worksheet mixes up sentences, and asks children to work out what the original sentence looked like.

  • Get children to focus on the importance of capital letters and full stops.  For example, entering This is a dog. will get your student to think about which words must come first and last (“This”, as is begins with a capital, “dog” last as it is attached to a full stop).
  • You can also enter the punctuation separately.  For instance, This is a dog . will make the full stop “float” around the mixed up sentence.
